This is a unique style that "pops" in person as it does on the page. (I ordered the black and white.) Not sure if the description mentions that it comes with an ivory chiffon scarf/shawl. From the photos it's hard to see how much ruching there is on the bodice - as another reviewer noted, this does add a bit of "thickness" around the torso (though for those of us who are no longer prom dress age - *cough20threunioncough* - that does also camouflage little bulges). I also couldn't tell from the photo that the skirt is a full circle - awesome for dancing! I see why others have noted it is snug through the hips (I'm a 10/12 pants size and the L just fits my hips), although because of the ruched style, one could just move the hipline seam up a bit over her hipbones if needed (letting the length of the bodice scrunch slightly more). The fabric is nice - lightweight satin but not too thin, lustrous but not super shiny. I also like that there is boning along the open sides of the back (where the lacing connects) which makes it lace up really smoothly. My only other comment is - be advised you either need antigravity youthful breasts to manage this one, or some kind of creative stick-on or sewn-in bra cups!

this dress is beautiful! it came with two satin sashes, a white one and a black one, along with a black shawl (i ordered the black dress). I wasn't aware it came with these extras!! It came in the mail super fast, and you can't beat the price. It needs to be the tiniest bit altered to fit me just right, but other than that, it's awesome!

I along with 3 other bridesmaids purchased this dress last summer for my best friends wedding. It looked great on different body types and you can't beat the price. We ALL went a SIZE UP in the dresses. Which is different than some reviewers said. I thought the measurements were accurate but their related size was too big ie. a small should really be called an extra small etc. Even still, I love these dresses so much I think I am going to use them (in different colors of course) for my own wedding!

The dress was beautiful and arrived earlier than they said it would. When my daughter put it on to wear for graduation pictures and practice the plastic piece used to adjust the straps broke. I ordered the top in 1X, which was long enough and large enough in the bust for me (I'm 5'8", D cup). It hugs in all the right places and is very flattering, but all of the seams on the ties opened up after the first (gentle) wash. They must have been done with seam sealer. Now I'll have to drag out the sewing machine to sew real seams. I don't know if that was a problem just with this one top, or if they were all made that way. If you're comfortable with sewing seams, this is still a good top - it's very sexy and the price is right.

I purchased this balero to wear at my wedding.

I used the sizing charts, and ordered a size larger than what I thought I would need. I thought if it was too big my alterations person could handle too big, but not too small.
The balero was way to small...way too small. The tag on the inside said a 1x and the paper hang tag said 2x- neither was correct.

Also the satin is of poor quality, if you are needing this item for a special event such as a wedding. It is too thin and the bottom of the balero had threads hanging from it in the back.

I'm out of time, and now my alerations person has to make the balero. Its gonna cost 2xs as much, but atleast I'll have what I want!!

I bought this dress for my Winter Formal, and I love it. I'm giving it 5 stars, even though the chest was a bit too big. That's my fault for not being busty enough for the rest of me, I suppose. My friend took the bust in for me, and it didn't take much time at all. I got the ice blue, and it really does look just like it does in the photo. By the way, the underskirt isn't completely tulle. The tulle is only a few inches, from where it peeks out to a little past the hem. If this dress doesn't quite work for you, I'd suggest another dress by PacificPlex. They're just amazing, in my humble opinion.

I bought this blouse in green. Its really an ugly light green not like its pictured on thier website. It looks really pretty in the photo but its really quite cheap and low quality. I wouldn't pay $10 for this blouse. The button holes have strings hanging everywhere. You definitely need to go up at least one size. However, because I ordered the next size up, the V neckline is much too low so I would have to wear a cami under it. Its not quite the look I was going for. Save your money, wish I had.

I ordered this dress for a formal dinner on a cruise my husband and I are taking next month. I read all the reviews carefully, as well as the size chart and ordered accordingly. I ordered 2 sizes up from my normal size. According to the sizing chart I should have ordered a XL. I ordered a 3X and it STILL didn't FIT!! I was so upset!! I've got a considerable bust, but from the images it looked like this dress would provide sufficient coverage however that just wasn't the case. I ordered from the size chart, and the first dress that arrived was too big, so I exchanged it for a smaller size. It was shipped very quickly, which I appreciated, but it still didn't fit right.

I had hoped to be able to sew a bra into the dress, since there's no way to wear one with this style (not even a halter bra, as it has a low back), but even if I had done that there would have been far too much side-bust showing. I don't mind showing a little cleavage, but this top just didn't provide enough coverage to be comfortable with. I returned the dress and am waiting for my credit.

The dress itself was very pretty, I was disappointed it didn't fit. The shipping was super-fast, and they were great with the exchange.
